In every piece of communication from an advert to a PR line you have to make sure your message is consistent and always conveys your key messages and true personality. One brand that, love them or hate them, that certainly gets it's point across, in PR terms at least, is Ryanair.
Today produced yet another gem from their communications department tackling the issue of online discussions:
"Ryanair can confirm that a Ryanair staff member did engage in a blog discussion. It is Ryanair policy not to waste time and energy in corresponding with idiot bloggers and Ryanair can confirm that it won’t be happening again.
"Lunatic bloggers can have the blog sphere all to themselves as our people are far too busy driving down the cost of air travel”.
You can read what prompted this tactile and gentle comment in The Times.
It doesn't top Scott's favourite O'Leary line though which once graced the front page of the FT. When asked in a detailed and lengthy question as how he would respond to the OFT's probe into Ryanair's activities he simply responded; "I'll tell them to fuck off."
