We have our own basketball team at Public but none of us can pull off impressive moves like this...
This amazing shot of Dwight “Superman” Howard was taken at last year’s NBA All-Star Weekend. This year’s game will be live on Channel 5 in the early hours of Monday morning and will feature incredible athletes such as Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and the Obama supporting Chris Paul. We like his trainers...
Talking of trainers, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant have been involved in clever major marketing campaigns recently in the US.
Rather than buying Kobe’s new Nike trainers he wants us to invest in ‘ankle insurance’. The whole campaign has an impressive interactive website where users can upload their own ‘ankle insurance’ videos, just like Kobe’s TV ads:
Meanwhile the NBA’s biggest superstar LeBron James created a major stir on the Internet earlier this month.
In the run up to the Superbowl (the highlight of the American Football calendar) LeBron was featured in puzzling teaser commercials stating that he was about to make an ‘important announcement on his future’.
Speculation was rife on the net that LeBron, probably the games’ biggest star since Michael Jordan, was about to switch sporting codes and move to the Cleveland Browns football team.
Unfortunately, while the teasers ads were excellent at creating hype, the final ads were simply a rather disappointing commercial for financial firm State Farm.
You say "none of us can pull of moves like these," I am affronted Sir. I wager one of your English pounds that when we return to The Dome, I will soar like an eagle and dispatch the ball for two glorious points.
